Sausage In The Ground
IMPORTANT!!!
Playing in the browser is not recommended due to a bug that freezes the game after you die in the web build, also the web build is less stable. I recommend downloading your preferred Windows version. But if you are a skilled foe and want that true rougelike experience where you have to restart the game after you die, then I still don't reccomed the web build but, I can't force you to dawnload the game (:
Web & Win controls:
Web controls:
WSAD - Move | Space - Jump | Left Shift - Sprint | C - Slide | Mouse 1 - Shoot |
Win controls:
They are the same as Web but you Can Choose betwen Slide beeing mapped to Left Control or C, as some users had problems with randomly triggering shortcuts. The builds have been accordingly named to the corresponding mapping.
Pro tips:
- Get some Speed perks, as then you can keep distance betwen you and the enemies.
- You can avoid incoming shockwave by standing on a desk.
- You can change your movement direction without loosing momentum by slide + choosen direction.
- Play some music of your choice in the background as I didn't have time to add it myself. It makes the game a lot more enjoyable!
- Don't be scared to experiment, the most important thing is to have fun!
About the Game:
You are a hitman hired to kill the CEO of the biggest bioengineering company in the world. You climb to the top to fulfill your contract. The game is a movement-based FPS roguelike. It features randomly generated levels, perks, a couple of enemy types, and small details that I think are cool.
About the jam/creation of the game:
Man I’m exhausted as hell. I was late to the jam about 1.5 days, and like always overscoped with my idea. The game has very little audio and some things are rough around the edges. Why are there cat posters instead of more audio you may ask? You have to set priorities and of course cat posters are more impactful to the gameplay than audio. I wanted to add more audio and even make an OST but I ran out of time. The game is based around a short story I wrote a while ago and when I saw the theme it was obvious what I would create. I’m overall happy how the game turned out even without the OST I recommend you to just play some music in the background on Spotify etc. It is a lot of fun to fly around the floors (literally). Perks are so unbalanced but I actually think that’s great in a game with not as much content, the crazy overpowered builds add to the overall experience. I actually think that I will release a full version on Steam, let me know what you think, the game will take an unexpected turn underground. Actually I wanted to mention that I will probably start a game dev channel in some unknown amount of time, so if you want I really encourage you to rate this game and comment your thoughts. Thank you for reading, and for playing my game, don't forget to rate my game (if you want of course).
